Rastrakutas were Brahmans. Arjun Sarja and his family members are not Kurubas.
Also Holkars and other non-Karnataka groups like Pallavas cannot be considered as belonging to the Kannada Kuruba community.

Arjun Sarja & family belong to Kunchitiga but Arjun Sarja married a Kuruba girl who is a daughter of actor Rajesh. Why unnecessary argument on this issue and better to remove this family from Kurubas. It is no doubt that Kuruba is a single largest community in South India. They are about 80 lacs in Karnataka, 70 lacs in AP, 50 lacs in TN and 5 lacs in Kerala. They were originally speaking Kannada and even in remote villages in TN they speak old Kannada. You can observe that some of the villages enroute from Bangalore to Chennai are named as Kurubarapalli or Kurubarahalli.As there is no medium of Kannada in TN and AP and they were forced to learn Tamil and Telugu respectively, urban Kurubas in TN and AP forgotten Kannada. But in villges they still speak old Kannada. Pallavas belong to Kurubas.

First you go and see Wikipedia of kunchatigas you will come to know how you guys came to karnataka without kurubas help you were not able to cross godavari river. You guys come under 3A category since your ancestors made a mistake while British census.
Sister vokkaliagas were mainly settled in south karnataka if you come and see in our north karnataka you would not able to find a single vokkaliga, then how you can say rastrakutas, chalukyas and Hoysala kingdoms belong to your community. They were originally belong to Kuruba community hence you can see our population in Maharashtra, andhra Pradesh, telangana and tamilnadu. This is the simple logic these kingdoms not belong to your community.

I don't see any big difference in vokka, kuru caste apart from caste name. Both customs are same, farming is primary occupation. Both are largest grouos, land holding community.

Thank for this site, it is very informative and I am from Telangana state my grandfather met Gavisiddappa S. Belavadi and he used to tell greatly about Sri Gavisiddappa and he was influenced many people in our state also and because of him only one of relative got MLA ticket from Congress party ,but he was not become successful leader. my grandfather used talk in Kannada, but now we are unable to talk in Kannada. We know our community roots are in karnataka,our community was devided 60 percent in karnataka 40 percent telangana at time of Hyderabad state division, now also we are almost same percent of people available in telangana like karnataka, but we don't have correct leader to show our community strenth, our people less educated in telangana region, it is bit tuff job, but I feel our community will get strenthen when we get political power. Please bee active in the karnataka politics and even help us in terms of moral support to our community people in telangana as well.

Kuruba is completely a different caste who are basically equivalent to the yadavas and most of them were not farmers or didnt even own lands in the past .Just because a kuruba helped kunchitigas doesnt make kunchitigas to be kurubas have some brains .Kunchitiga community is part of the Vokkaliga community from a long time and that is the reality .Kurubas are different We kunchitigas are one of the sub castes of vokkaligas
